INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

During individual therapy we experience the interconnectedness between humans, the creation of a space that exists just for you, where you form a therapeutic relationship with a psychologist, counselor, social worker, psychotherapist and start your journey to heal and thrive. This alliance is a safe space and serves to help people improve their mental health, understand themselves better, process experiences that have contributed to symptoms and unuseful behaviors, learn skills to improve interpersonal relationships and communication, set boundaries and lead healthier lives, all while feeling supported.

At Emerge, our approach to individual therapy is holistic, empowering, and relational while we strive to teach and impart knowledge along the way. We feel it important that you understand your own functioning as that empowers you to make lasting change. During the first few sessions of your individual therapy with one of our therapists we will gather information about the challenges you are going through and construct a framework for our work together moving forward. There are many theories that can be used to help you understand your functioning and many modalities to help you change. We mainly use evidence-based approaches as these have proven results and provide lasting change, but will adapt treatment to what is most beneficial to your uniqueness.

Whatever the challenge bringing you to therapy, we can help you explore why you feel, think, behave the way you do, and provide you with the tool and skills to improve your quality of life.  We provide in person therapy and online therapy to suit your needs.

“In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.
In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile.
In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.
I realized, through it all, that …
In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy.

For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me,
within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back” — Albert Camus
