SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Emerge Psychology Group engages in Socially Responsible Practice (SRP)

Social responsibility is an ethical framework in which we work and cooperate with other individuals and organizations for the benefit of the community that will inherit the world that we will leave behind. We regard it as a duty that every individual has to maintain and strive to engage toward social justice and community wellness …  a balance between the economy and the ecosystem one lives within. SRP aims to secure healthcare for all people and eliminate barriers like distance, financial condition, and by using ethical frameworks combining the resources of land managers, municipalities, nonprofits, educational institutions, businesses, manufacturers, and individual volunteers, which will be required to solve environmental and social crisis. We can be socially responsible passively, by avoiding engaging in socially harmful acts, or actively, by performing activities that advance social goals. Social responsibility must be intergenerational, since the actions of one generation have consequences on those following. Socially responsible practitioners employ science, empathy, compassion, and courage to drive action and change.

Emerge Psychology Group illuminates and donates to Chicago area nonprofit organizations on a monthly basis, each fully licensed clinician at Emerge offers some sessions at low sliding scale fee services, and as a practice entering our initial years as a group, we will continually strive to build and add programs that highlight our socially responsible practice model.
