LAUREN ENGELHARD
Lauren Engelhard, M.A., LPC, NCC (she/they)
Training Coordinator, Diversity and Community Connection & Psychotherapist
Lauren is a queer therapist who often works with LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Latine children, adults, couples/partners, families, and polycules, while being mindful of their white identity. Their areas of interest include identity exploration and intersectionality, difficulties related to sex and intimacy, challenges in communication between partners, and non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships. Lauren works across the lifespan and has experience with children as young as three years old through adulthood. They often pull from frameworks like psychodynamic theory, person-centered therapy, and attachment theory.
When working with children, Lauren frequently uses play therapy and utilizes elements of evidence-based theories, like Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. Additionally, they enjoy collaborating with caregiver(s) to help children develop a deeper understanding of their emotions, how to communicate them, and how to best be supported across the developmental stages.
Lauren uses multicultural and feminist lenses while practicing with cultural humility to tailor their approach to you, your culture, life context, and experiences - a generic, one-size-fits-all response would be unrealistic and unhelpful to the unique individual that you are. Whatever it is you’re looking for, they’re glad you’ve taken steps to get here and are ready to dive in!
