LIZZY MAURNO
Elizabeth (Lizzy) Maurno, M.A., LCPC, NCC (she/her)
Clinical Director & Psychotherapist
Lizzy understands that confronting emotional wounds can be a powerful, overwhelming, and sometimes painful experience. Her goal is to help empower you to take an active role in your own healing, as well as provide you with an empathic and judgment-free space. She understands that it can be challenging to be vulnerable about deeply personal and sensitive topics and creates a safe and affirming therapeutic environment while providing clients unconditional positive regard.
Lizzy specializes in working with adolescents and young adults struggling with a wide variety of difficulties such as complex trauma/PTSD, disordered eating, mood and personality disorders, substance use, sexuality, and gender identity. Additionally, Lizzy has experience working with Highly Sensitive Persons. She utilizes eclectic techniques that stem from CBT, DBT, IFS, psychodynamic, and existential theoretical orientations that she tailors to the specific needs of each individual. Lizzy also has training in Polyvagal Theory.
In order to prioritize cultural sensitivity, Lizzy provides treatment that is trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and strongly influenced by feminist and anti-racist principles. Lizzy is kink/poly-affirming, holds a strong interest in esoteric belief systems, and is comfortable utilizing these belief systems in the therapeutic relationship.
