ARI DORSHKIND

Ari Dorshkind, M.A., NCC-C, ATR-P-C (he/they)

PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Ari (he/they) believes therapy should be a safe, encouraging, and collaborative experience.  Because each person he works with brings a unique blend of identity, values, and culture, Ari’s person-centered approach to therapy works to support clients in embracing their most authentic selves. In his practice, Ari works from a holistic, culturally inclusive, and socially responsible mindset, striving to foster a space of transformation, creativity, and healing where clients feel seen and understood.

As an art therapist, Ari believes creativity is an innate part of being human. Ari loves empowering clients to unlock their creativity as a tool for exploration and processing. In his own life, Ari tends toward analogical thinking, often using analogies to understand and explain concepts that would otherwise feel out of reach. He loves challenging perspectives and finds that collaboratively exploring what therapy can be provides clients with the scaffolding they need to build a transformative experience.

As a queer and transgender man, Ari delights in exploring themes of identity and personal values with clients and supporting them in embracing the parts of themselves that spark joy and a sense of meaning. Ari finds fulfillment in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, young to middle-aged adults, and anyone seeking support in finding a sense of identity. He values showing up to sessions as his authentic self and will meet clients with grace, compassion, patience, and care.
