EMILY MATISKO
Emily Matisko, M.A., LPC, NCC (she/her)
Psychotherapist
Growing up, Emily’s mom would always say, “Everyone has a story.” Today, that phrase has become the foundation of how Emily works as a therapist. She strives to understand her clients’ stories through a holistic, trauma-informed lens, and offers a safe and compassionate space for clients to process the meaning of their stories and to begin writing their next chapter.
Emily is particularly passionate about working with teens and emerging adults navigating identity exploration, life transitions, relationship concerns, body image issues, anxiety, depression, and perfectionism. She also focuses on supporting clients who are facing religious/spiritual struggles and religious trauma. As a culturally sensitive and affirming therapist, Emily welcomes clients of all identities and backgrounds.
A relational therapist at heart, Emily prioritizes creating a shared sense of trust, respect, and empathy with each of her clients. Knowing that our stories can live in our bodies just as much as our brains, Emily heavily incorporates Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, and somatic techniques into her practice. If you’re curious about starting therapy or just want to explore if it’s a good fit, Emily would love to connect with you!
